As the Denver Post's Lynn Bartels reports:
Former Vice President Dick Cheney attended two fundraisers in Denver today, one for his daughter, Liz, a U.S. Senate candidate in Wyoming and one for the state GOP, where plenty of Republicans were excited about recent polling numbers for Democrats John Hickenlooper and Mark Udall.
Bartels reports that last night's event was closed to the media, so no questions about the recent blowup between former Vice President Dick Cheney's daughters over gay marriage. Last week, Cheney's daughter Liz Cheney, a GOP U.S. Senate primary candidate in Wyoming, sought advantage in her race against incumbent Sen. Mike Enzi by throwing sister Mary Cheney (and Mary's same-sex family) under the wheels. That intrafamily spat has led to more press for Cheney than her longshot bid to unseat Sen. Enzi. Yesterday's fundraiser was reportedly for both Colorado Republicans and Liz Cheney's Senate bid, which rightly invites questions as to why the Colorado Republican Party is getting involved in that primary race at all.
But most importantly, everyone made it out of a room with "Shooter" Cheney unharmed (see title).
